PERGO LAMINATE
Pergo Inc. is one of the largest producers of laminate flooring in the world, with US sales of more than $250 million. Pergo is sold through 3,500 retailers, including Home Depot and Lowes.
Consumers are alleging that Pergo, Inc. knowingly sold them defective laminate flooring, and that the company concealed information about the defective flooring.
The allegedly defective laminate was sold to consumers in or around 1996.
The 25-year warranty that came with the flooring guaranteed that the laminate surface would not wear through, the floor would not fade or stain, the floor would not be damaged by damp mopping and the joints would remain secure under normal usage.
However, consumers began complaining of cracking, banging, snapping and thumping noises, warped joints, visible seams and buckling floors.
A class action lawsuit has been filed in Oregon on behalf of consumers that own or have owned defective Pergo laminate flooring.
