PEANUT BUTTER SALMONELLA
After hundreds of people reported food poisoning symptoms, the Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers not to eat certain jars of Peter Pan peanut butter or Great Value peanut butter due to risk of contamination with Salmonella.
ConAgra Foods Inc. warns consumers to discard jars of Peter Pan and Great Value peanut butter with the product code number beginning with "2111".
The Food and Drug Administration sent investigators to review records, collect product samples, and conduct tests for salmonella at the ConAgra plant in Georgia, and the Center for Disease Control is also investigating.

The CDC recommends that all Peter Pan brand peanut butter purchased since May 2006 should be discarded.
